Under the Constellations

I miss you.

I was lying under the blanket
Waiting for one sweet good night
Thinking about us, as our worlds collide
But I fell asleep without you by my side

Your promise, the morning renewed
With a lovely kiss, I knew dreams do come true
I thanked the sun, the moon and the stars
How blissful to be in your arms

As the day fell into slumber
And constellations my only witnesses
I wished our memories knew no end
For now, I have to be patient
Till no other gravity can take you away

Waiting

The spark in your eyes reminds me of
The first sight of dew in the morning
Beautiful pearls glistening with colours
Reminiscent of summer

Your presence is always a spectacular sight
But my thoughts of you don't fill me with might
I still fear of losing you once I try to hold you

So I stand on the threshold of home
Allowing myself to be held by time
Hoping patience leaves her mark once again

Drowning

For moments when you don't want to explain yourself

You feel like you're drowning
Trying to breathe through anger and sadness
Far from thoughts of spring

You fear the night my child
Unlike the youth you now lost
Who sees the rain in dances rather than in pain

How do you push memories and nightmares
When the shadow plants itself into your skin
Growing deeper where the soul is silent

You want to scream
and run to your solace
As this might help you swim

Yet you still feel like you're drowning
