![]() November 2 or All Souls' Day is a day of prayer for those who have passed away. It also marks the end of The Day of the Dead, which is a similar celebration in Latin America (Día De Muertos in Spanish), particularly in Mexico. Internationally, there are three things that makes this day special. 1. We remember our dead loved ones. We are thankful for all the memories and blessings that came into our lives through our family and friends. We are firm in the idea that as long as we think of them, they remain with us. 2. We celebrate our faith. For Christians, we believe that the Lord has risen after making the ultimate sacrifice for mankind. This day allows us to commemorate the promise that was fulfilled after Christ's resurrection. 3. We are encouraged to pray. In the Apostles' Creed, we mention that we believe in the communion of saints. This means that we are all united in prayer for the salvation of souls, both the living and the dead. We remain hopeful that just like Jesus, we will rise again and partake in the eternal banquet with the Father. *** Today, my family went to the Shrine of Saint Therese of the Child Jesus. We visited and prayed at the columbarium where the ashes of our grandparents, father's side, lie. It's a nice place because the feeling is very peaceful, quite accessible, the facilities are well maintained and masses are held in the chapel at the centre of the columbarium. In addition, this is only beneath the earlier mentioned shrine. So how did you celebrate All Souls' Day? I hope you had a meaningful one. Later days.
